You’ve seriously been living in a closet for the past year if you haven’t heard of the craze teen phenomenon, High School Musical. Released in 2006, High School Musical rapidly became the most successful movie that Disney Channel Original Movie ever produced. Its popularity led to two sequels being released with a fourth said to be in writing stages.
However, undoubtedly the best thing to come from these array of camptastic films, is the devilishly divine Zac Efron. Referred to by Perez Hilton as ‘Zacquisha’, Mr Efron’s success has been truly astounding making him one of the most sought after and adored, erm, men in Hollywood. Having just celebrated his 21st birthday this October, Zac’s boyish looks, dazzling blue eyes and killer dress sense have made his face a must-have on any teenage girl or gay guy’s wall.
Whilst many speculated about the sexuality of the California-born star, unfortunately Zac is not gay. In fact, his girlfriend is on-screen partner Vanessa Hudgens. Jealously hated by Perez Hilton and other gay men alike, Zac and Vanessa’s relationship appears strong even in the face of relentless paparazzi. That doesn’t mean we won’t be waiting for a split though!
In an unexpected twist (or just a well-planned PR stunt), Hollywood was all in a tizzy recently when naked pictures of Miss Hudgens leaked onto the internet. After much deliberation about the future of her career with Disney, her contract was renewed although she took a million dollar pay cut for the damage done to her image.
So, what does the future hold for Zac Efron? Rumour has it that Mr Efron is in line to star in a film about Richard and Robert Dupont, two gay brothers who were infamously known for their strikingly blonde hair and relationships with gay artist Andy Warhol. The project is still in the pipeline but watch this space as we’ll be keeping you up to date with Zac’s next moves.
