Brighton's favourite gay newspaper comes to London
Monday, 17th November 2008

From this week, Brighton's gay newspaper, one80news, will be available in the capital.
The popular bi-monthly is launching a London version on Wednesday, offering a mix of local news, reviews and entertainment geared around the LGBT community.
The sister paper of 3sixty magazine, one80news London will also feature articles and information on Brighton and vice versa, with publishers City Pride Publications turning out two versions. Editor Niall McMurray is expecting big things: "It's a title which goes beyond the traditional gay lifestyle magazine offering and prides itself on dealing with issues of substance like politics and traditional news".
One80 Brighton launched in 2007 and currently has a readership of 28,000. It describes itself as an "older, more informed read," something its editorial believes is the secret to its success. "It's been successful because it offers something different," said McMurray."Its mixed readership also likes the fact that it has no sexual content at all".
The magazine offers everything from information on gay nightlife to sexual health services, with pages dedicated to music, theatre, book and film reviews as well as venue maps, scene guide and photos from nights out.
It will be available online along with links to affiliated resources while the print version will be distributed in some 40 bars across the city.
