Standing proud outside Leicester Square tube station, Aberdeen Angus Steak House is perfectly situated as the place to grab a bite to eat before going to the theatre.
Boasting a menu that would satisfy even the most carnivorous of appetites, the steaks come in eight different cuts, and three sizes ranging up to the 16 ounce Angus T-Bone. With a claim that they had the ‘best steaks in London’, I arrived to the restaurant with high hopes and expectations.
The selection for starters was somewhat limited with only a few appetisers to choose from. The cheesy potato skins were slightly disappointing, smothered in processed cheese that cheapened the dish. Our charming waitress made up for it as she offered to remove the starter from the bill. Overall, the staff were very friendly, polite and eager to please.

Being a hardcore steak lover, I was eager to receive the main course. Having ordered the 12oz fillet steak, I was somewhat dubious when my steak leant more towards the 6oz side of things. The size of the steak was very small and certainly did not reflect the price, £18.95. Although the size was disappointing, the steak was succulently tender and went perfectly with a large glass of merlot.
Vegetarians need not worry either, as the menu caters for all offering a vegetarian lasagne and nut roast.
All in all, the food was rather over priced and wasn’t particularly reflected in the quality or quantity of food. The restaurant’s atmosphere is spot on and the decor warm and inviting.
